Hello! I know I haven’t been online much at all this year, but I have been super busy with shoots and life is crazy good with my two little ones. I’m booked solid the next couple months and my goal for the new year is to build an easier-t0-update website so I can post more of the beautiful families I photograph!
So my whole mantra is sweet and simple and this session with my friends (and neighbors!) John & Ruby was just that. These two just celebrated their 14th anniversary and asked me if I wouldn’t mind taking a few photos of them one evening on a weeknight. These were literally taken behind both our backyards next to a construction zone where some beautiful wild flowers had grown and the light was absolutely amazing. After we got the “few” they asked for with their dog Judy, we put Judy in the backyard and spent another 5 minutes capturing the first photos they’ve had taken of them in YEARS. YEARS, people. And yet these two were so natural in front of the camera like they had photos taken all the time (Ruby will disagree with me about the natural part, but they were!). I literally barely edited these photos, the light was that amazing! That golden hue is actual sunlight, no filter added!
5 Minutes + unconventional location in some wild flowers next to construction surrounded by houses = still perfect! Proof you don’t need to travel far and nigh to find the perfect spot, sometimes it’s literally right outside your door!
I captured so very many but here are my faves!
