If you are looking for a beautiful park setting that is just classic Kansas City vibes, the Rose Garden in Loose Park is it. I absolutely love its walk way of stone arches which break up the greenery and give some lines to the portraits there. Its one of those locations that you really can shoot in year round and it won’t always look the same as the rose bushes grow and bloom and the light really is different depending on what time of day you shoot there.
In the Spring and early Fall I love scheduling sessions in the Rose Garden fairly early in the mornings, the sun has that golden hue peeking through the trees that just gives a glow to the photos, you can feel the warmth and newness of Spring like a warm hug. With my next date here coming up in a couple weeks one June 5th, here are some of my favorites from last Spring to show you what type of greenery and warmth we typically get there in the Rose Garden in the month of June. Spring – Morning
This session is also from the same morning but they booked two sessions back to back so to include a session with grandparents. I always love grandparent sessions!
Again same morning, but facing the opposite direction at the very first family shown which shows the versatility in shooting there in the gardens.

The following images were photographed in October last year also in the morning, so you can see the leaves starting to turn just a bit and we definitely get a different hue from the sun in the Fall. So you really can’t go wrong any time of year!
